Writer's picture: Baby HueyBaby Huey

Today we will look at Batman from DC Super Powers line from McFarlane Toys. Continuing the legacy of the DC Super Powers line of the 80s comes a brand new batch of your favorite heroes and villains in the classic nostalgia series we all love, Classic 4" scale Super Powers Figures with 5 points of Articulation, Batman is featured in his look from Batman: Hush, Comes packaged in iconic Super Powers blister card packaging with updated artwork and logos reflecting your favorite characters

PACKAGING:

Before we open this up, let's check out the packaging.

Each figure in this Super Powers line comes on a blister card that closely resembles the iconic Super Powers card from the 80s. At the top, we find the DC and Batman logos. The Super Powers logo is positioned below them. Batman himself is depicted in the blister bubble, accompanied by some artwork of the Dark Knight. The bottom section features a nostalgic McFarlane logo. Turning the card over, we get a great view of Batman from the side. On the back of the card, we find a cross-section of the other figures in this line. On the opposite side, we receive a brief description of Batman, In the name of his murdered parents, Bruce Wayne™ wages eternal war on the criminals of Gotham City*™. He is vengeance. He is the night. He is Batman! Turning the card once more, we are treated to another side view of the Dark Knight. These side views are particularly useful for collectors who want to preserve their figures in pristine condition on the card.

OUTSIDE OF THE BOX:

Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.

Taking our new Batman out of the box, we can see that McFarlane Toys has done an excellent job on this figure. It’s a repaint of the classic blue and grey Batman, but it still looks great. McFarlane Toys even went above and beyond with the new cape. It feels incredibly soft and reminiscent of the old Super Power capes we grew up with.

ACCESSORIES:

Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.

NONE!

ARTICULATION:

How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!

BATMAN’S ARTICULATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

MUSHROOM PEGGED NECK - allows you to turn the head 360 degrees.

MUSHROOM PEGGED SHOULDERS - This gives the arm 360-degree rotation.

MUSHROOM PEGGED LEGS - This allows the legs to move back and forth.

SINGLE-JOINTED KNEES - The joint allows you to bend the leg about 90 degrees.

SIZE COMPARISON:

How does the size of this figure compare to others?

Our new Batman stands at approximately 4 inches tall. Here’s Batman standing with our first Batman McFarlane, released in 2022, and our classic Blue and Grey Batman. Next, here’s Batman standing next to our new Trinity, featuring Superman and Wonder Woman.

RATING:

What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?

PAINT JOB 5/5 - Overall there isn't much paint on this figure, but what we have is done well.

FIGURE SCULPT 5/5 - This is the Batman figure I wanted when McFaralne announced this line a few years ago.

POSING 3.5/5 - This is challenging to rate because it’s based on the 80s style and includes all the features a figure would have had back then. However, it would have been great to see elbow bends added.

ACCESSORIES: 0/5 - None!

DURABILITY 3.5/5 - The plastic is a little softer than I would like, it does make Batman hard to stand without using a stand. I worry about the legs warping over time.

OVERALL SCORE 3.4/5 - If you didn't pick up the blue and grey Batman I would say definitely pick this guy up.

RETAIL COST: $9.99
