Toying Around Reviews - Star Wars The Black Series - Jon Favreau (Paz Vizsla)

Updated: Dec 7, 2023

Today we will look at the 6-inch Star Wars The Black Series Paz Vizsla, but just not any Paz Vizsla. This Paz Vizsla comes with the head sculpt of Jon Favreau since Jon does voice him in the show Star Wars the Mandolorian. Star Wars: The Black Series (TBS) is a Star Wars toy line produced by Hasbro. It includes action figures, vehicles, Force FX lightsabers, and collectible items. The action figures are based on characters from the movies, shows, books, comics, and video games from the Expanded Universe and canon.

PACKAGING: Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.

Jon Favreau comes in a rectangular-styled box that most of the exclusive type figures come in. The front of the box has the Star Wars The Black Series logo and a glossy image of Paz Vizsla’s helmet. Turning the box to the side we get some more wrap-around from the helmet that is on the front. The back of the box only has the Star Wars The Mandalorian along with some legal info. The other side of the box gives us some artwork of Jon Favreau as Paz Vizsla. The inside of the box does slide out, to show you the figure tied up inside. This is plastic-free packaging. The back of this shows a bigger picture of Jon that we got on the side. along with a small write-up. “Celebrate the creator of Star Wars: The Mandalorian with this Jon Favreau figure, dressed as the iconic Paz Vizsla, Favreau voices this brawny Mandalorian warrior, just as he did for the fan-favorite Mandalorian Pre Vizsla in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, bringing his unique passion and vision to a galaxy far, far away.”

OUTSIDE OF THE BOX: Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.

Taking the figure out of the box you can see that the figure itself is the same as the normal Paz Vizsla aside from some more muted colors on this new one. The big thing about this guy is the Jon Favreau head sculpt.

ACCESSORIES: Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.

Jon Favreau comes with a Helmet and his blaster cannon backpack

ARTICULATION: How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!

JON FAVREAU’S ARTICULATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: DUMBBELL JOINTED NECK - allows you to turn the head 360 degrees.

BALL-HINGED SHOULDERS - Gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.

SINGLE JOINTED ELBOWS - This allows you to bend the arm about 90 degrees.

SWIVEL BALL HINGE WRISTS - The left hand has a vertical thing while the right hand has a horizontal hinge

DIAPHRAGM SWIVEL - This lets you turn the figure around 360 degrees at the diaphragm.

BALL JOINTED LEGS - With this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion.

DOUBLE JOINTED KNEES - The joint allows you to bend the leg itself back to the butt of the figure.

BALL JOINTED ANKLES - The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back and also to the left and right.

SIZE COMPARISON: How does the size of this figure compare to others?

Jon Favreau stands right around the 6.5-inch mark. Now, here is Jon next to Jon :-p Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan from the MCU

RATING: What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?

PAINT JOB 5/5 - The paint is on point. The photo-real print they used to do Jon’s face is very well done.

FIGURE SCULPT 4.5/5 - The sculpt is nice however the armor is bulky on the legs and it does cut into the but of the figure and can chew up the plastic.

POSING 4/5 - Double-jointed arms would help with the movement a little bit more, as well as the armor being a little smaller on the legs or giving them more clearance to be able to turn.

ACCESSORIES: 5/5 - Couldn’t really ask for him to come with anything else.

DURABILITY 4.5/5 - The plastic is a little soft on the legs and does get chewed up very easily by the back of the figure.

OVERALL SCORE 4.6/5 - issues aside I love that we got a Jon Favreau in the Black Series.

RETAIL COST: $39.99 I PICKED MINE UP AT HASBRO PULSE
