Toying Around Reviews - DC Multiverse: Batman Three Jokers - The Comedian Joker

Updated: Feb 9, 2023

Today we will be taking a look at The Comedian Joker, also known as the Killing Joke Joker from the book Batman: Three Jokers. The story tells us that there as always been different jokers running around. This Joker was the one that was in the story The Killing Joke, in that story among other things, Joker shot and crippled Barbara Gordon, aka Batgirl. McFarlane Toys, a subsidiary of Todd McFarlane Productions, is a company founded by comics creator Todd McFarlane which makes highly detailed model figurines of characters from movies, comics, popular music, video games, and various sporting genres.

PACKAGING: Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.

Taking a look at the front, the top of the box lets us know that the figure has 22 points of articulation. below that, we have a big window that lets us see the figure and everything he comes with. At the bottom of the box, we have the DC Multiverse logo and the figure’s name, The Comedian Joker. Turning the box to the side we have the figure’s name and where he is from, Batman: Three Jokers. The back of the box gives us a look at the figure’s collector card that is also inside the box. Below that we have the rest of the figures you can pick up. Turning the box around one more time we get a small window that lets us see the figure.

OUTSIDE OF THE BOX: Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.

Taking the Joker figure out of the box we can get a good look at him. The way they made the jacket makes it look like the plastic is really fabric. it’s a really nice touch. The Joker’s head sculpt is also really well done, I love it.

ACCESSORIES: Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.

Joker comes with a camera, a crowbar, a trading card, and a figure stand.

ARTICULATION: How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!

JOKER’S ARTICULATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: DUMBBELL JOINTED NECK - allows you to turn the head 360 degrees.

BUTTERFLY HING - This allows you to move the shoulder area front and back to get a better range of motion.

BALL-HINGED SHOULDERS - Gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.

UPPER BICEP SWIVEL - This cut lets you turn the whole arm below the cut 360 degrees.

DOUBLE-JOINTED ELBOWS - This allows you to bend the arm over 90 degrees.

BALL SWIVEL HINGE WRISTS - With this, you can turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down.

DIAPHRAGM SWIVEL - This lets you be able to turn the figure around 360 degrees at the diaphragm. (Hindered due to jacket)

BALL JOINTED WAIST - This lets you be able to turn the figure around 360 degrees at the waist.

HINGE JOINTED LEGS - With this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion. (Hindered due to jacket)

DOUBLE-JOINTED KNEES - The joint allows you to bend the leg itself back to the butt of the figure.

BALL JOINTED ANKLES - The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back and also to the left and right.

TOE JOINT - This allows you to bend the toes up so you can pose the figure a little better when making him look like he is running or walking.

SIZE COMPARISON: How does the size of this figure compare to others?

Joker stands right a little over 7 inches tall. First, we have Joker standing next to the other two Jokers that McFarlane Toys has released, Next, we have Joker standing next to the Batman Detective Comes 1000 variant.

RATING: What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?

PAINT JOB 5/5 - While the paint on the figure itself is a little bare, it really makes up for it with all the paint on the face. They really killed it

FIGURE SCULPT 5/5 - The figure looks perfect. Just how this joker should look

POSING 4/5 - posing him can be a little hard at times. even though the jacket is a softer plastic it is still not that soft overall.

ACCESSORIES: 3/5 - The WB needs to get rid of this no-guns rule, it is hurting the figure’s accessories.

DURABILITY 4.5/5 - I do worry about the jacket breaking down over time since it does use a softer plastic.

OVERALL SCORE 4.3/5 - For right now, since I don’t have the other two jokers, this is my new definitive Joker.

RETAIL COST: $19.99 I PICKED MINE UP AT MY GAMESTOP
