Today we will be taking a look at Ronin from the upcoming Avengers End Game Marvel Legends line.
Packaging: Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.
Ronin comes packed in the stranded Marvel Legends Series box. You have the Legends Series logo at the top. Ronin is displayed in the middle through the large window that showcases the figure as well as the accessories. This gives great visibility for collectors that may not be opening it. On the bottom of the box, you have the Avengers End Game logo as this is a movie-based figure. Below that, you have Ronin’s name. On the left side of the box, we get some nice promo work of Ronin. On the back of the box, you have a promo shot of Ronin as well as a small bio: Clint Barton is a master sharpshooter and skilled martial artist who fights alongside the Avengers. Below that, you have a picture of the Build-A-Figure Thanos and next to him a list of who you need to get to complete him. Captain America (no Build-A-Figure), Ronin, Ebony Maw, Living Laser, Nighthawk, Citizen V and Hercules. Flipping the box to the right side now, you see we get the same promo work of Ronin that is on the left side.
Outside of the Box: Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.
Taking Ronin out of the box we get a very nice look at all the small details they put in his suit. We also get a good look at the bright gold that Hasbro used on him. The gold makes him pop.
Accessories: Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.
Ronin comes with two swords (one short, one long). He also comes with an extra left hand that has him look like he is throwing stars. Ronin also comes with the left arm for the Thanos Build-A-Figure. If you have the Hawkeye/Black Window two-pack you can take the unmasked Hawkeye head from that and use it on Ronin.
Articulation: How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!
Ronin's articulation includes the following:
Hinged Ball Jointed Head - allows you to swivel the head 360 degrees and tilt the head back and forth. Ball Hinged Shoulders - gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm. Upper Bicep Swivel - This cut lets you turn the whole arm below the cut 360 degrees. Double Jointed Elbows - this allows you to bend the arm back to have the hands near the shoulders. Swivel Hinge Wrists - allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down. Ab Crunch - this cut lets you be able to bend the figure front and back at the Abs, However, due to the figure’s jacket, you can not really use this crunch. Ball Jointed Legs - This allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion. Upper Thigh Swivel - the leg can rotate around a full 360 degrees. Double Jointed Knees - joint allows you to bend the leg itself all the way back to the butt of the figure. Hinged Ankles with rockers - The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back. The rockers allow you to rock the ankles towards the outside and inside of the legs of the figure.
Size Comparison: How does the size of this figure compare to others?
Ronin with his hood on stands right around 6.5 inches tall. Here is Ronin standing next to the comic book version of Ronin.
Rating:
What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?
Paint Job 5/5 Not much paint on the figure since he is in all black but the gold they used on him is nice and bright and stands out very well on him. Figure Sculpt / Posing 4/5 Ronin has the normal Marvel Legends posing, however, the Ab Crunch being hindered by the jacket is a little bit of a letdown. Durability 5/5 Like with most Hasbro Marvel Legends, I have no issue with this guy, joints are tight where they should be and I have no fear of anything breaking on him. Overall Score 4.66/5 Retail Cost: $19.99 I picked mine up at my local Walmart.
Time for some Toying Around!!
