Toying Around Reviews: Marvel Legends: Avengers GamerVerse - Iron Man

Today we will be taking a look at Gamerverse Iron Man. This Iron Man look is based on the upcoming Avengers video game from Square Enix that is releasing September 4th, 2020. The Marvel Legends Series is a Mid-Tier toy line that both collectors and non-collectors alike would be interested in. With multiple scales ranging from 4 inches to 12 inches and a good mix of detail and articulation, these figures tend to look good both inside and outside of the box.

PACKAGING: Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.

Iron Man comes packed in the stranded Marvel Legends GamerVerse white box. At the top of the box, you have the Abomination Build-A-Figure logo, as He is the figure for this wave. The Marvel GamerVerse logo is right below that. Iron Man is displayed in the middle through the large window that showcases the figure as well as his accessories. This gives great visibility for collectors that may not be opening it. On the bottom of the box, you have the Marvel Avengers logo from the game. At the very bottom, we have Iron Man’s name. On the left side of the box, we get some nice artwork of The whole Avengers team that is in the game. On the back of the box, you have a picture of Iron Man along with a small bio, Tony Stark developed his cutting-edge Iron Man armor and helped found the Avengers to protect the world against catastrophic threats. Below that we have a picture of Abomination along with the rest of the figures in this wave, Captain America, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Mar-Vel, Mach-1, Rage, and The Leader. Flipping the box to the right side now, you see we get the same artwork that is on the left side.

OUTSIDE OF THE BOX: Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.

Taking Iron Man out of the box and taking a closer look at him, I think Hasbro did a good job on the figure. He looks like the artwork from the video game, As I can not be 100% sure the figure is correct since at the time of this review the game has not come out yet.

ACCESSORIES: Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.

IRON MAN COMES WITH: Left and right closed fists. Left and right blasting hands. Two blast effects. Left foot for the Build-A-Figure.

ARTICULATION: How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!

IRON MAN’S ARTICULATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: HINGED BALL JOINTED NECK - allows you to swivel the head 360 degrees and tilt the head back and forth.

BALL-HINGED SHOULDERS - Gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.

DOUBLE JOINTED ELBOWS - This allows you to bend the arm back to have the hands near the shoulders.

SWIVEL HINGE WRISTS - It allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down.

AB CRUNCH - This cut lets you be able to bend the figure front and back at the Abs.

WAIST SWIVEL - This lets you be able to turn the figure around 360 degrees at the waist.

BALL JOINTED LEGS - With this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion.

UPPER THIGH SWIVEL - The leg can rotate around a full 360 degrees.

DOUBLE JOINTED KNEES - The joint allows you to bend the leg itself back to the butt of the figure.

HINGED ANKLES WITH ROCKERS - The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back. The rockers allow you to rock the ankles towards the outside and inside of the legs of the figure.

SIZE COMPARISON: How does the size of this figure compare to others?

Iron Man stands just a little over 6.5 inches tall. Here is our new Iron Man standing next to The Marvel 80th Anniversary Iron Man and Iron Man from Civil War.

RATING: What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?

PAINT JOB 5/5 - The paint on this Iron Man is very well done. The gold and silver are both where they should be and there isn’t really any paint bleeding into any other spots.

FIGURE SCULPT 4.5/5 - The only real issue with the sculpt is his shoulder plates, They prevent you from moving his arms out more, and they also hinder you from trying to rotate the figure at the bicep.

POSING 4.5/5 - If the shoulder plates were better posing of the figure would be a 5/5 if we could move the shoulders out a little bit more to the sides

ACCESSORIES: 4.5/5 - The only real thing this figure is missing is a Tony Stark head sculpt.

DURABILITY 5/5 - The plastic and construction of the figure are solid. don’t see anything breaking down or off the figure.

OVERALL SCORE 4.7/5 - This figure is just missing a few small things to be a home run.

RETAIL COST: $19.99 I picked mine up at my local Walmart
