Toying Around Reviews - Marvel Legends Thanos (Walmart Exclusive)

Today we will be taking a look at the Marvel Legends Walmart exclusive Thanos figure. The Marvel Legends Series is a Mid-Tier toy line that both collectors and non-collectors alike would be interested in. With multiple scales ranging from 4 inches to 12 inches and a good mix of detail and articulation, these figures tend to look good both inside and outside of the box.

Packaging: Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.

Thanos comes packed in the stranded Marvel Legends Series box. You have the Legends Series logo. Thanos is clearly displayed in the middle through the large window that showcases the figure as well as his accessories. This gives great visibility for collectors that may not be opening it. On the bottom of the box, you have the Thanos logo as this is a comic book-based figure. On the left side of the box, we get some nice artwork of Thanos. On the back of the box, you have a promo shot of the figure at the top with a small bio. Armed for war, Thanos wields the Infinity Gauntlet and plots to take over the galaxy. Flipping the box to the right side now, you see we get the same Thanos artwork that is on the left side.

Outside of the Box: Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.

Taking a look at Thanos outside the box, the first thing you notice is the nice color of blue and gold that they have used on him. It is a much brighter blue on this Thanos figure than the one that was released a few years ago.

Accessories: Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.

Thanos comes with a regular left hand and another head, this head has no smile.

Articulation: How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!

Thanos' articulation includes the following:

Hinged Ball Jointed Head - allows you to swivel the head 360 degrees and tilt the head back and forth. Ball Hinged Shoulders - gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm. Upper Bicep Swivel - This cut lets you turn the whole arm below the cut 360 degrees. Double Jointed Elbows - this allows you to bend the arm back to have the hands near the shoulders. Glove cut - this cut allows you to turn the glove and hand a full 350 degrees. Swivel Hinge Wrists - allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down. Ab Crunch - this cut lets you be able to bend the figure front and back at the Abs. Waist Swivel - this lets you be able to turn the figure around 360 degrees at the waist. Ball Jointed Legs - This allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion. Upper Thigh Swivel - the leg can rotate around a full 360 degrees. Double Jointed Knees - joint allows you to bend the leg itself all the way back to the butt of the figure. Hinged Ankles with rockers - The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back. The rockers allow you to rock the ankles towards the outside and inside of the legs of the figure.

Size Comparison: How does the size of this figure compare to others?

Thanos stands right around 7 inches tall. 1st up we have Thanos standing next to the Thanos we got just a few years ago in a build-a-figure wave. Both are the same, This new Thanos just comes in his older comic book colors. Next, we have Thanos standing next to the Marvel Legends' Invincible Iron Man from the Okoye wave and Spider-Man from the Homecoming wave.

Rating: What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?

Paint Job 5/5 The paint job on him is perfect. This figure combines classic colors with the modern look of Thanos. I can not complain. Figure Sculpt 4/5 The only knock on the figure is his shield, like the original build-a-figure, it does not stay attached to the figure. I think it would have been better if they made it all in one piece. Posing / Durability 4/5 Now Thanos is a bigger figure so it is a little harder to get him into some nice poses. Overall Score 4.33/5 Thanos is a really good figure. He isn't perfect but he will defiantly be replacing the older Build-A-Figure on my shelf. Retail Cost: $19.84 I picked up my Iron Man figure at Walmart.

Time for some Toying Around!!
