Today we will be taking a look at the all-new Power Ranger’s Lightning Collection. The Lightning Collection is the new adult collector line from Hasbro. Hasbro took over the Power Ranger line from Bandai this year. This new Lightning Collection line should fit in nicely with the Marvel Legends line of figures since they are both made by Hasbro.
Packaging: Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.
Lord Zedd comes in what is to be the standard box for this new Lightning Collection by Hasbro. it is a nice rectangle-style box. Lord Zedd is displayed on the left side along with all his accessories. To the right is some artwork of Lord Zedd. Below we have the Power Rangers Lightning Collection logo along with the name of the figure. Turning the box to the left we see we have another look at that same artwork from the front. The back of the box only shows the promo picture for the figure. This line does not show any other figures from the line nor a bio for the figure. turning the box around one more time we see that the artwork from the front of the box is wrapping around to this side.
Outside of the Box: Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.
Taking Lord Zedd out of the box we get a nice look at him. The tubes going around his body are done with clear plastic and are attached to him well. The Silver on Zedd is also nice and shiny, it really makes him pop well.
Accessories: Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.
Lord Zedd comes with his Z-Staff, some lighting to go around the staff, a right-holding hand, a left-closed-fisted hand, and a growing bomb that he used in the show to make the monsters grow.
Articulation: How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!
Lord Zedd's articulation includes the following:
Hinged Ball Jointed Head - allows you to swivel the head 360 degrees and tilt the head back and forth. Butterfly Joint - With this joint you can move the whole arm section forward and backward to get some more range of motion. Ball Hinged Shoulders - gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm. Upper Bicep Swivel - This cut lets you turn the whole arm below the cut 360 degrees. Double Jointed Elbows - this allows you to bend the arm back to have the hands near the shoulders. Swivel Hinge Wrists - allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down. Upper Waist Swivel - this lets you be able to turn the figure around 360 degrees at the waist. Ab Crunch - this cut lets you be able to bend the figure front and back at the Abs, Where most Ab Crunches let you bend the figure at the top of the abs this one is different as the crunch at the bottom, more at the belt of the figure. Ball Jointed Legs - This allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion. Upper Thigh Swivel - the leg can rotate around a full 360 degrees. Double Jointed Knees - joint allows you to bend the leg itself back to the butt of the figure. Hinged Ankles with rockers - The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back. The rockers allow you to rock the ankles towards the outside and inside of the legs of the figure.
Size Comparison: How does the size of this figure compare to others?
Lord Zedd stands just about 6.5 inches tall. Here is Lord Zedd with a Lord Zedd from just a few years ago and the new Beat Morphers basic line Red Ranger.
Rating:
What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?
Paint Job 5/5
The paint job on the figures is very well done. Red and Silver are not hard to mess up.
Figure Sculpt / Posing 5/5
The sculpt of Lord Zedd is spot on, this is the best-looking Lord Zedd figure we have to date.
Durability 5/5
The figure feels well in hand, the joints are tight but not tight enough that I feel like they will break.
Overall Score 5/5
If you are a Power Rangers fan do yourself a favor and pick him up if you see him, you will not be disappointed.
